Directions for Papier-Mâché Eggs:

  • Paint the top half of each egg in colors of your choice.
  • Place the eggs to dry in the carton with the dry half sitting in the carton and the wet half facing up.
  • When the paint has dried, paint the bottom half of each egg in a different color of your choice.
  • Place the eggs back in the carton to dry (wet side up).
  • Once the eggs are dried, cut a piece of decorative ribbon to fit around the middle of your egg.
  • Glue the piece of decorative ribbon around the middle of the egg where the 2 color halves meet.
  • If you like, you can place a button, sticker, or other image to the ribbon where the ends of the ribbon meet.  I used this rabbit sticker from Martha Stewart. This will hide the gap between the ribbon ends.
