Tis the season for parties and get-togethers. With so much going on during the holidays, there’s a lot to do to get our kitchens and pantries ready for the arrival of guests. When thinking about the menu, my mind immediately goes to the dessert course. To add some diversity to the offerings, I have decided to forgo the traditional pies in favor of a wide array of desserts, including mini-chocolate cupcakes (for the kids, of course *wink*). To add a festive touch, I decided to try out a quick craft- fall foliage cupcake toppers. These would also look great on a multitude of other desserts.
Instructions to Make Festive Dessert Toppers
1. Print out this clip-art image
2. Cut out the leaf shapes and and pin them to various orange, maroon, red and gold pieces of felt.
3. Carefully cut the leave patterns from the felt.
4. Use a tiny drop of hot glue to affix the felt leaves to toothpicks.
Just like that—a quick, festive way to dress up your holiday dessert offerings!
