Messy BedroomFive minutes is all you need to tidy up even the messiest bedroom, says Barbara Webster, president of Nice N Clean Maid Service in Miami. Here’s her five-step whirlwind formula. Got your running shoes on?
  1. Make the bed: Pull up the cover and straighten the pillows.
  2. Collect all the clothes that are flung about the room. Dirty stuff goes in the hamper. Clean clothes go in a “to be put away” basket or pile (an assignment for the owner of the bedroom).
  3. Toss toys into toy bins or baskets.
  4. Put books in a neat pile or on a shelf.
  5. For a nice cosmetic touch, position the curtains so that each side is equally open. Either pull blinds up or leave them down but open.

  1. my kids room was messy and i needed to clean it quick because i was seeing a friend in ten minutes got this done in 5 looking like it took me an hour really recomend this for people in a rush or who don’t want to spend hours on cleaning thank you so much yankee

    1. this really works i did not want to spend 3-4 hours trying to clean my room this took 4 min and 30 seconds to get my entire room clean

  2. It really helped me clean my room. It took about 20 minutes but that’s probably because you could barley walk in my room and I have a pretty big room as well

  3. I love this so much, except I would add “pick up garbage” and “add finishing touches”! Other than that, it works perfectly well!

  4. This is wonderful! But to make it better I would add ‘Pick up garbage’ and ‘Organise desk’ to make it a little bit awesome.

  5. This was really good I do recommend having one for finishing touches or putting clothes because it only said to make a pile of clothes you have to put away but other than that it worked really well!! Would recommend

  6. No way this will work for the *messiest* room, but I can totally see this as a maintenance routine. Now to get my daughter’s room to a baseline. ????
