All in all, it’s a beautiful model of a regular house, skillfully and meticulously built by Don H. Lovett Sr. and Helen L. Eddy.
It’s been donated as a fundraiser to the First Congregational Church of Rutland (which, incidentally, is in the exact center of Massachusetts) by Mrs. Betty J. Eddy, Helen’s mother, in memory of her husband, David H. Eddy Jr.
How much would you pay for this house? Well, we’re told the materials came to $950 wholesale, but the church’s deacons have estimated their retail value as $2,275. To us, that seems low, as a project of this type might go for $6,500 in a dollhouse store.
