A walkway can add a lot of punch to the curb appeal of a house, unless its been overrun by pesky plants. When that happens, try these two methods to remove weeds from your walkway. If weeds start to flourish in the spaces of your brick or stone walk, here’s a good way to combat them: Fill a teakettle with water, bring it to a boil and pour the boiling water over the weeds. Immediately cover the area with a piece of burlap or an old blanket to hold in the heat. This treatment should kill emerging weeds before they break up your walkway. Use an old screwdriver to strip weeds from cracks between paving stones or bricks. Dig down to loosen the roots and pull up the entire plant. If uneven spaces remain, fill them in with loose soil or sand.
