    You stumped us, so we reached out to Steve Connolly for the full scoop. His answer is below.

    “The Giant Pumpkins are edible but not that tasty. They taste like cardboard, where something like a Connecticut Field Pumpkin is much sweeter and is great in Pumpkin Pie. After the Fair, the Pumpkins are sold almost 100% of the time to private owners, businesses, or Parks, Like Roger Williams Park in RI. I usually end up with 3 times more calls than pumpkins, so I always run out.”
