This variation on the Fribble, Friendly’s signature milkshake, often appears on the summer dessert menu. Its unique texture comes from making a simple homemade frozen milk base, then blending that with fresh berries.

4 cups whole milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups wild blueberries, fresh or frozen
Pinch salt (optional)
Whisk milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until sugar dissolves. Pour into an ice cream maker and chill according to package instructions until frozen. Pour the frozen ice milk into a blender with the blueberries and pulse until combined.
