New Englanders pack a certain reverence for big weather. There’s a pride in claiming to have lived through some of the most challenging stuff nature can throw our way. Winter, especially. The Blizzard of ’78. The Ice Storm of ’98. The list goes on. If you experienced last winter’s snows, you know what I mean.
But sometimes even the hardiest Yankees need a break. A chance to thaw out and reset. That’s why we’ve put together a special package of warm weather getaways. These aren’t just any sunny destinations, mind you. They’re ones with unique New England connections so you can leave home without, you know, leaving it all behind. Some, I’m sure, will surprise you. Did you know, for example, it was a New London, Connecticut, whaling captain who founded Destin, Florida? Or that New England style architecture pervades the town center of Harbour Island, Bahamas?
Sure, a visit may mean missing the next big winter storm, but this is New England. Another one is always on its way.
