There’s more than one way to skin a tomato easily…
The quickest and easiest way we know of, this method works best for gazpacho, soups, and sauces. Recipes included below.
Cut tomatoes in half (length or width); then place a box grater over a bowl and rub cut side gently. The blades of most box graters won’t cut through the skin.
Or…bring a large pot of water to a boil. Prepare a large bowl of ice water. Score the smooth bottom of each tomato with an X. Place tomatoes in hot water 30 to 40 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon to the ice bath and chill 2 minutes. Strain from the water and peel.
