Town Pound

Stray animals, and those often taken for tax purposes were kept in ‘Town Pounds’. Very few exist now, this one located in Durham, NH at the intersection of Rt 108 and Durham Point Rd

A stone wall with the label "TOWN POUND" above a small white wooden gate. Green grass and a flowering tree are visible in the background.
