With its gardens, greenhouses, resident animals, and gifts of every kind, Snug Harbor Farm in Kennebunk, Maine, is well worth the stop.

“Driving along Route 9 in Kennebunk, you almost pass Snug Harbor Farm before you catch an intriguing glimpse of an outbuilding or pony grazing and a little bit of magic occurs.”
This passage from the Snug Harbor Farm website is pretty much spot-on. Pull over to browse the perennials, and you’ll soon discover this is no ordinary country garden center, but rather a garden wonderland complete with five greenhouses, a nursery, a barn, pastures, growing fields, a colorful shop, and resident animals that include poodles, ponies, and peacocks.
Here’s a look at my June 2017 visit to Snug Harbor Farm.
