Bridge of Flowers

The gracefully arched stone Bridge of Flowers was built to carry trolleys in 1908. Now it’s planted with hundreds of varieties of flowers and even some trees. It’s a splendid walkway that also features a war memorial. The Bridge of Flowers is “made new” each year by the local women’s club. Members have planted an old unused trolley bridge with perennials and add fresh color with annuals each spring. When you’ve spent some time smelling the flowers and enjoying the display, ramble down the river bank to see the glacial potholes below Salmon Falls. It’s all free, and a nice way to slow down for an afternoon in a small village.
