Featured Photographer | Jack McConnell Shoots Winter in New England

2.62 avg. rating (53% score) - 29 votes

Connecticut based photographer Jack McConnell has spent 40 years creating photographs.  Much of his work centers on capturing the beauty of the New England landscape.

Just Winter is a collection of photographs taken during the long cold winter season.  Most are these images have been taken in towns surrounding Hartford, with the rest shot on an island in the Penobscot Bay, and in rural Vermont and New Hampshire.  For McConnell, “Winter scenes are monochromatic in nature, which is a restful relief after the autumn hysteria of colors, particularly in New England with its dramatic color palette. In winter even when I’m shooting in color, I can really concentrate on composition, as I can when I’m shooting B&W.”
