White Christmas Cookies

Yield: Depends on what size shapes are used


  • 1-1/4 cups shortening, part butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract
  • 6 cups flour


Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, add well-beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture alternately with sour cream. Add flavoring; roll out 1/8-thick and cut into different shapes. Bake 10 minutes in 425 degree oven. When cool, ice and decorate with colored candies.
