Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 can (796 ml / 28 oz.) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (796 ml / 28 oz.) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 container (900ml Tetra Pak / 3.6 cups) Chicken Broth
  • 2 tbsp. Diced Onion
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 3 tbsp. Granulated (white) Sugar
  • 4 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tsp. Dried Basil
  • 1/8 tsp. Fresh-ground Black Pepper

Instructions

1. Put all ingredients into a large pot (Dutch oven type / size), and bring to a boil. 2. Reduce heat, and let simmer for about an hour. 3. Makes ten (10) 1-cup 'servings'. This soup is awesome with a tablespoon or so of grated Asiago cheese on top! [Optional, NOT included in nutritional information!] Enjoy! :)
