The Captain’s French Toast


  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 12 slices white toasting bread, more if the bread is soft
  • Topping:
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1-1/2 cups orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread bottom of 9x13-inch pan with butter, cinnamon, and honey. Spray sides of pan with butter-flavored non-stick cooking spray and layer the bread on top. Combine the topping ingredients and pour over the bread. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until puffed and lightly browned.
