These spicy cookies are the traditional Swedish Julpepparkakor served at Christmastime. Thin, crisp, and delicious, they keep well in an airtight container.

- 1/2 cup light molasses
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed dark-brown sugar
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 to 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
