Hamburger casserole

This originated as part of a Kraft Foods commercial more than 40 years ago. I’ve modified it only slightly, and it’s a real family favorite.

Yield: About 4 servings


  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 16-ounce can creamed corn
  • 1 8-ounce package low-fat cream cheese
  • 8 ounces noodles, preferable kluski or homemade


Crumble and brown ground beef and onion until meat loses its pink color and onion is tender. Drain well.

Stir in soup, corn and cheese, cubed; heat until cheese is melted.

Stir in cooked noodles, and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until bubbly. If everyone is really hungry this can be served without doing time in the oven.
